Dr. Brosly Velazquez. Care rooted in community.

For children born with a cleft, dental care begins before they even have teeth. Brosly was a primary school teacher who saw how many of her students had poor dental health, so she went back to school to become a pediatric dentist.

We made her portrait for Smile Train's International Women's Day: her clinic, the families she teaches and her belief that every child deserves follow-up care.
