Jennifer. A story of strength and smiles.

When a child is born with a cleft lip and palate, the journey is only beginning. It is not one or two surgeries: it is nutrition, surgery, speech therapy and orthodontics, often over many years.

Tess Unlimited has worked in Guatemala for seventeen years and has helped nearly 5,000 children receive that comprehensive care. For this short documentary we went with them to Huehuetenango to visit one of those children, Jennifer: her school, her classmates, a talk about clefts, a game of football and the animals she looks after at home.
